If a lightbulb dies in a hard-to-reach place, it can be a pain to replace. Fetching a ladder and climbing all the way up to reach the ceiling is annoying. What if there was a better way?

Turns out there is, maybe. If you have a spare drone lying around, you could use it to replace your busted lightbulb. Youtuber Marek Baczynski tests out the procedure:

It may surprise you to learn that replacing a lightbulb with a drone is not an easy task. It's hard for the drone to even grab the lightbulb with its little grabby claw, and when it misses the propellers can hit the bulb and break.

Even when the drone manages to accurately grab and unscrew the broken lightbulb, installing the new one is a challenge as well. In this case, missing the socket—which happens frequently—causes the lightbulb to fall to the ground and break.

Despite all the struggles, and many broken lightbulbs, the drone was eventually successful in replacing a lightbulb. So if you're looking to replace a lightbulb of your own, and some time to waste, maybe it's worth a try. But remember, it may only take one drone to replace a lightbulb, but it takes a bunch of extra bulbs.
